Enjoying this strip for years. Feels like real life in our world. Not stagnant, or silly. Just reasonable events in a big family. Kids DO cut to the chase!

@marantzI agree with others. Been following this strip for years. It is realistic and relevant: diversity, single parent, upbeat grandmother- I relate well with her- retired teacher/moderate professor.Read some other strip or get over it!

As for the comic, Phil likes the girls, and they like him and can talk to him. Over ten years of wine, dinners out, and movies with Val… I think they should get on with it and marry too. however, I suspect that Ms. Eliot is playing with us as much as she’s playing with Val’s love life. I further suspect this is going to take a turn that none of us could foresee.

I usually do not see the children what a man to marry their mom as Holly and Alix does. Most children try to break the couple up.

This strip is based on No Change. Luci will never grow up to become a roller derby queen, Holly will never outgrow her teen angst, Max will never learn to (really) talk…etc., etc. I think Jan is playing with our heads!
