About trolls on discussion forums:

About ten years ago, discussion forums (on ANY topic) started picking up a lot of mentally defective posters who, relishing the anonymity of the internet, tried to boost their own self-esteem by disrupting discussion threads with non sequiturs, profanity, racist and bigoted screeds, pornography (once they could post photos and videos), and personal attacks slandering and libeling other posters.

The first, best defense is simply to ignore ANY and ALL posts by such folks, whether they seem reasonable or not, because the thing these folks crave most is attention. Without attention, they soon tire of the game and move on to more fertile ground.

The second best defense is to appeal separately to the webmaster hosting the website to remove the offensive posts and ban the poster.

Making such an appeal within the discussion thread, itself, just feeds the troll’s psychosis.

I guess it’s true. When one lesbian window closes, another opens. And they can’t ALL be psycho…...can they?.…oh.

Well, Jane is being treated like the guy in that argument.

Agreed, but there a lot more Muslims out there murdering Christians than vice versa. Not that they don’t deserve it. And not that there aren’t plenty of Christians participating. Jews are takng care of most of the Muslim murdering that’s going on. Not that they don’t deserve it. Even the Hindus are out there committing religious murder. Religion is such a wonderful thing. Brings us all closer to God. In a hurry!

I have a distinctly soprano voice and yet while troubleshooting with military personnel, they all end up calling me sir. And they all get embarrassed.

I tell them not to worry because in the Star Trek universe, all officers are Sir. Plus – I hear it as a sign of respect for my knowledge. It’s cool.

Oh Jane – if you weren’t fictitious, I’d tell you to drop the drama queens and come hiking with me. Le sigh.

Wes- or should it be, those who are in comic strips who dont remember their own history are going to repeat part of it again, some time or another?

This is supposed to be a comic section, meaning funny. We don’t really need grim hostility here, There’s enough and to spare in the real world.

Wesbucey, you’re absolutely right. there’s a whole CROWD of such trolls over at the “Marvel Masterworks” site who’ve taken it over and made it near-impossible to have a reasonable discussion or post intelligent comments without drawing non-stop rudeness and insults. In their case, they’re like a pack of 5-years olds who don’t want anyone else to use their personal private “playground”.
