We had a Shetland Sheep Dog who would run out the front door when company came if we didn’t keep an eye on her. Once outside, we would call her to “come” and she would act like she couldn’t hear a word we said. But if we went inside, opened the refrigerator door and pulled out a piece of cheese and sliced it – before we were finished slicing, she would be back in the kitchen, begging for a hunk of that cheese! We tried saying “cheese” when she ran out the door – but she didn’t pay any attention to what we were saying then either. We had to actually take the cheese out of the refrigerator and begin slicing it before she would turn up in the kitchen, begging for a little cheese snack! She was wild about cheese!
My dog would like all of the above, but his favorite would be “Stick Flavored”. We live in the country and walk him on a dirt road where he brings back a different stick nearly every day.
