I almost feel sorry for Verla, and I guarantee Jerry didn’t even call her.the only bright note is that she is too dumb to realize why.

Yeah, the last time they took her to lunch, Verla nearly broke the bank and the restaurant told them never to come back because she stole so much flatware, etc. Besides, no one, and I mean absolutely no one, wants to spend any more time with her than they absolutely have to. (Here I might enter some sort of vulgar observation about the amount of time Jerry takes to….but I’m not that sort of guy, so I won’t.)Good news today! Prostate cancer remains a goner for six years now. Any day without cancer is a good day. Even if they did conduct a procedure similar to “pigging” a pipeline. And yes, it was exactly as much fun as you might expect from the name.

Hmm, I’d never thought of it before, but maybe funeral homes shouldn’t sponsor marathons . . .

But it was amusing watching 15 people trying to gnaw the ends off their straws. Still. No one objected when she was given that special cubicle. The one by the window. The window that won’t quite close. The one away from everyone else except Smithers who was kicked in the nose by a mule as a lad and can’t smell anything. But even he gets some odd sensations when she goes more than a week without rinsing her bra.

The last person to draw must have been sweating until they found the drawing was rigged. Well it is certainly nice for Verla, she thinks everyone at work wanted to take her to lunch. Joke is on them, no winners.

I too, feel a bit sad for Verla. Even though I can understand the reason for the no “winning” straw. Still, it does seem a bit hurtful…. I mean, Verla is clueless and will ALWAYS remain clueless about her own attributes. But, I suspect that she could feel hurt about this.

I never thought about Verla working somewhere. Does anyone have the details? Just so I can avoid applying there.
