I am always cooking, too. I mean… how do you live with two kids, one of them on special diet that pretty much means no ready-made foods possible, and not cook for a whole year??
As to the comic – I purchase nothing if it’s not on the list. Especially in this case when turkeys are often purchased in advance because they’re frozen and need to thaw.
It will be just be hubby and me, and my BIL. We’ll roast a chicken, hubby will fix mashed potatoes and I’ll make bread and dessert. BIL is bringing a veggie, the stuffing and a bottle of wine. The kids won’t come because it’s the opening day of hunting season, and apparently there will not be any deer left tomorrow.
I am cooking side dishes and an appetizer. I am going to mom and dad’s for turkey breast and dressing so I bring the rest. Just the three of us this year and only 2 dogs since 1 of theirs died 2 weeks ago. It will be a little sad without the big guy but there are other things to be thankful for like we are still here. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Be safe especially to those who don’t have to go 2 houses down the street to be with their families like me.
Turkey breast for one son, ham for hubby, and tofurkey for oldest son. Mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, broccoli with cheese sauce, rolls, cranberry sauce, I think that’s it. And hubby bought a pumpkin pie today.
Yes, I do every year and I start the baking the night before. So far I’ve made cheesecake, pound cake and upside down apple pie. Next I’m making cornbread for dressing, potato salad, pasta salad and possibly jello mold. Tomorrow is turkey, ham, green beans, dressing, mac n cheese and rolls. I feel like I’m forgetting something.
The answer was supposed to be no. However, little man is still sick so we are throwing together a thanksgiving here.I just love it when a plan comes together.
beviek His fever broke last night. Now we are dealing with upper respitory stuff. He has asthma, so we’re not out of the woods just yet. So far I’m still plugging along. I’m getting ready to fix up the stuffing for tomorrow.

Not this year. We’re a sort of family rotation.
