Peter Maresca seems to have given up on adding commentary to these things, and has slipped into an annoying habit of giving extended runs of obscure strips rather than showing the rich variety available in the comics of 100 years ago. This is very disappointing, and a bit boring. I understand this “strip” is really an extended promo for a book, but I’m unlikely to buy the book if there is no improvement in the selections, and the commentary.
