Are you really that daft?? There are plenty who make and take on both sides of the aisle. The fact that those on the right always try to say that only on those on the left do the taking proves what self righteous hypocrites you on the right are.
I am waiting for the next cartoon that speaks to the huge Harry Reid run PAC and the $80 million spent by teachers unions or the millions spent on leftists candidates by labor while 40 % of their members vote right.
Florida’s massive voter fraud might be related to its massive number of welfare drug-users. Koch brothers were exposed in Oregon, as were Michael Bloomberg and John Arnold’s attempt to “fix” our elections system. Maybe you ought to “pass the grass legislation” and just chill.
Another example of a cartoonist pimping for Obama and the Leftwing/Progressives that were soundly rejected in the midterms. If you think the Koch bros. can outspend Big Labor, George Soros, both the biased TV and print media, you’ve drank too much of the Obama Kool Aide. Get used to having it rammed down your throats, Libbers, like you did to us for 6 years.
There’s nothing as “elitist” as thinking the actual American people, not just “corporate persons” should get the benefits of sound leadership in Congress, and state and local “political bodies”.
Of course, you neglected to cite (from the SAME source):Top Organization Contributors:
16 Koch Industries $7,789,085
38 Soros Fund Management $3,892,700…and, of course, undisclosed 501-c contributions may invalidate any disclosed ranking…So, disingenuous stats, at least.
We can debate all day about which party received more money, who gave the money, how much they gave. But, the problem IS money. Way too much money being spread around Washington D.C. all year long, and even more so during election time. Until the people of this country force a major overhaul/upheaval of our election processes, this is the way it will be.
It’s branding. The GOP has made the Democrat brand suspect in enough minds that, along with voter suppression and apathy, they could squeak by and be in office for the next round of Gerrymandering.
Dem ideas are popular, and won all over the place, even as those who vowed to fight those ideas won.
Oh, and about the conservatives earning the money? The red states are, with one or two exceptions, the chief ‘welfare queens’ when it comes to sucking up tax money and giving nothing back.
Luckovich is an idiot. The people woke up to the inane policies of the “idiot in the White House” and his minions. They voted because they are worse off than they were 6 years ago and Ostupid had degraded the prestige and standing of our great country.
Of course, you don’t mention how much Soros and Speyer spent on the dumbocrats.
The amount of money spent on these elections is obscene. For every dollar spent on reelection at least one should be spent to feed the hungry and help the truly unfortunate.
Hallowe’en is a socialist plot — redistribution from those who have candy to those who don’t. Under threat of tricks if the candy owners don’t comply. I think candy owners should be allowed to keep the candy they have earned.
I have read enough about European and American history back to the 1500’s to know otherwise. Despite our current splurge of massive amounts of dollars going to two parties and numerous candidates, let me assure you that dollars, pounds, marks, lira, rubles, yen, pesos and dubloons have swayed the thoughts and actions of leaders and strongmen since recorded history began, and probably before! Even if we citizens put a referendum on the ballot, forbidding ANY campaign contributions, and overwhelmingly passed it, money (like water) would still find its way to its intended destination. As another commentator here on GC has repeatedly advised: DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Follow the money trail to the candidates, and see who is supporting them!
Churchy, I know this is naïve thinking, and it is not addressed by U.S. law. But I recall a parable from the past: “To whom much is given, much is expected”
Sure, wealthy investors earn it, but just how much is enough?
To LONECAT:Sorry, I know that practice existed as well. I was refering to the post-WWII boom, where a somewhat tacit understanding did exist in SOME of the American workplace.
Sour grapes Luckovich! After all the money the left pumped into the election, the people STILL saw through the lefts BS and gave the mandate to the republicans to STOP obama. Get over yourself, you lefties will manufacture the stupidest things to try and convince yourself it wasn’t actually your policies that lost you the election.

If the distribution were reasonably fair, then there would be no need for redistribution.
