I recall a scene from the 1968 movie “Little Big Man”, starring Dustin Hoffman, in which his Sioux “grandfather” is dancing his last, preparing to die. He thanks the Supreme Being for his life, and his defeat, and says, “and now You have decided that the Human Beings must walk a road, that leads nowhere.”.This came to mind when I clicked on this ’toon.
the potential “bright spot” is that this pack of the stupidest of the stupid will screw up so badly the electorate will wake up. The scary part is Kansas re-electing Brownback, and proving the electorate IS even stupider than those they elect.
I’m all but giddy with excitement over the GOP win. They’ve been given a loaded weapon and now the rest of the world gets to watch as they shoot each other in the foot. They couldn’t govern themselves out of a paper bag. Just look at their history going back to Reagan.
dtroutma: Tanks for mentioning Kansas. More Democrats were disenfranchised there than Brownback’s margin of victory. The same “victory” occurred in Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. The only surprise was Georgia missing from the list.
Ultimately it’s the voters who stayed home this time who picked the driver, but they won’t admit it. I am a machine inspector, so I know the drop in the number of voters t my poll over two years ago and which party they were. Instead of term limits, vote them out and stop complaining. I’ve voted every year since 1979, so I get the privilege.
As far as 2016 goes, I can predict that Obama will continue to disappoint and cave in even worse than Clinton in his second term. The corporate state will love it.
In the New York Times this morning is an article about a representative group of corporate & financial execs who are preparing petitions for REPUBLICAN congressmen about which environmental laws and financial/banking regulations they want repealed. And so it begins.(again)

The problem isn’t in the steering. The problem is their transmission is permanently stuck in Reverse.
