I'm sorry I smacked you. What was that all about? You sneaked up and tickled me! How'd you think I'd react? Laughter? Ok. I'll admit that's a reasonable mistake.
I wouldn’t know how a woman should react to grab and tickle by surprise, I do know how my hubby does when I pounce and it has nothing to do with laughter. Retaliation comes close to it.
Years ago I briefly dated someone who felt that he had to do that every single time he saw me. He didn’t understand what the problem was when I finally blew up at him. Not surprisingly, I didn’t date him for very long.
Women get to say what they like and the type and with whom they have physical contact. Men assume that they should control that. They are wrong. Sometimes, we react when we are surprised and don’t blow off the male control issues that occur daily. Men — if you keep assuming what you can do and what we like — build in some negative responses. Live with it.
an unexpected tickle or grope from anyone – male or female is Painful. A feather tickles. Hands and fingers hurt. Use the feather. Less bruising for both.
Hey consensual tickling is great — but I have found that men grab and think that they are tickling. Bruises have proven that assessment — and if I return the bruising automatically, they need to reassess the kind of contact they think is OK!

Mayhap I read too much into these characters, but I assumed that the surprise tickle was an experience that was not unfamiliar to Sarah. Tense much?
