    It may interest you to know that churches are indeed taxed, though, of course not the same as for-profits. The reason? Because we are taxed like other not-for-profits. Given that the vast majority of churches always skate on the edge of survival, they truly are not-for-profit. Why should they be taxed differently from other service organizations?

    The real issue here is that Mayor Parker and the city council have over stepped their authority. Using subpenas as a scare tactic to intimidate opposition is what at issue here. Noticed she did not back down until she was challenged by people and groups stronger then her empire. Basically she is a bully. Asking for pastors to turn over communications within the church? So confessions are to be made public?
