Tank had actually kind of let himself go until a few months ago, and then he did a promotion for a “get-fit” program involving CLOWN MAKEUP, of all things. When the commercial aired, everyone at his station tuned in, ready to laugh at him. Then they saw the results…. The men looked shocked. The women looked shocked and APPRECIATIVE. One of them was practically licking her lips as she said, “Adonis in a fright wig.”
Think Dave Barry once, within a story, made a joke about how puny cartoonists are, and quickly added, “except the guy that does Tank McNamara” with two or three more lines about how big was that cartoonist. Always wondered if that was mere Barry humor.
