Like religion, politics, or profits, ISIL, like many others, like TEA party, Miley Cyrus fans, or Scientology, representing an IDEA rather than a physical reality is much more difficult to dispel or destroy. So many in America today and in recent times, both “right” and “left” have sought to contaminate or control the concept of “freedom”, as we see it. Others do not share our views, just as even WITHIN our national mentality, the idea is not a singularly accepted concept.
“Good” and “evil” are even in the eyes of the beholder, and THAT is the problem of trying to bomb IDEAS into submission.
Along with that is the idea of POWER, and it is POWER that ISIL seeks, just like Republicans, Democrats, Labor Party, Conservative Party, Likud, or Hamas, oppsing power factions are often spouting ideas and ideology that they may, or may NOT actually represent, in that quest for ultimate power, singularly in their posession.
Power taken by force, whether using the most primitive of tools (with an assist from Facebook), or the most sophisticated of tools (even if they only work 12% of the time) is not in the interests of the people, the planet, or “humanity”.
