    when I was a kid a few years ago, catalogs got a once over, and then over once more in the Outhouse…

    Those look more like fliers than they do catalogs. If they were proper catalogs then Alice would have had a few thumps on the head.

    In the late 50s and early 60s, Sears and JC Penny published inch-thick special toy catalogs that were delivered right around this time of year. Spending weeks leafing through them was one of the best parts of Christmas, trying to select the one thing we were allowed to put on our “want list.”
