LIttle League folks have been killed, many pros hospitalized, and in between, a hard object moving at speed, baseball, or football helmet or player, shake the brain, cause concussion. MOVING can lead to injury also, so be a true American sports participant, right at home, turn on the boob tube and pop another beer. Brain damage without physical contact!
At what point does our North American obsession with professional and pseudo-professional(big-time college) sports yield to common-sense concerns about serious injury, off-field violence, PEDs and the corroding influence of huge amounts of money? Maybe never. When it comes to sports, we are all low-information voters.

easy, straps on the batting helmets. i can remember when it was unmanly for formula one drivers to wear helmets. and hockey goalies didn’t wear masks.
