I voted early yesterday and #2 is very believable. I am hispanic of Puerto Rican origin and it’s perceived by the eligible hispanic voters there is only one day to vote and the polling places aren’t open when they have free time.
If you have early voting in your state then go vote. If you only have the one day, polls are usually open from 7 am to 7 pm. Depending on when you have to be at work and when you get off, you do have that open window of time to vote.
How about because there isn’t anyone worth voting for? Campaigns are about muck-raking and voting is trying to choose the lesser of two evils. Politicians no longer take a stance because it may alienate a group of potential voters – no longer any ethics in politics, at any gov’t level.
I must admit that I don’t vote because I don’t know the political agendas of the different parties, so I might end voting for someone who goes against my interests just because I thought they looked cool on the ads. So I won’t vote until it’s clear their opinion in all the matters.
But then they probably will change their stance, as it happened before.

I will go with the first statement because propaganda is always blown out of proportion.

Vote or don’t complain of the results.

I’m going to say #2 is false— sadly, it’s probably higher than 1 in 4. Not just for Latinos, but across the board.

But still reserve the right to complain about politicians after the election …
