In the Massachusetts reform by June 2011 enrollment is projected to grow to 342,000 people at an annual expense of $1.35 billion. The original projections were for the program to ultimately cover approximately 215,000 people at a cost of $725 million.
Imagine the cost overrun on a National program such as this. The taxpayer money and people willing to loan to the US will run out someday at our current pace no matter what political party is in control. Republicans and Democrats need to grow spines and make tough decisions, and not just figure out ways to stay in power.

Massachusetts uses a Republican individual mandate.
Individual mandates in the HCR Bill were Republican ideas. Republicans also suggested them back with “Hillarycare.”
Now suddenly they’re “bad.”

I can understand why Ramirez focused in on this comment, after all there is nothing else of any importance going on.
