Slight wounds like this wont stop them. They will fight progress in Senate, in the Tea Parties, in the dumbest parts of Texas, they will fight and continue to fight anywhere and anytime that Progress appears.

This has got to be the silliest toone on the subject.

The hat should bear a sign of a donkey, for the Democrats have committed a collective hara-kiri.

I first thought this toon was too violent for me, until I noticed the head “Waterlooed.”

They will become progressively less relevant every day until and unless they become progressives.

sorry petergrt, but it is the GOP wo have exposed themselves as “little Napoleans”. Jim Demint said that healthcare would be “Obamas waterloo” and he was right….If he were Wellington.

The GOP has shown the US and the whole world that they are not a party of the people, TEA Party excluded, and that the provisions in this bill that kick in almost immediately will be very popular with the middle class.

The much talked about voter outrage against incumbents will hit the GOP much harder than you think…or for that matter what O’Rielly and Limbaugh think.

Maybe the hat should say “US Health Care System” instead of GOP. If anyone believes this health care bill is going to reduce the deficit is just as ignorant as Steve Benson. I can’t wait to see the cartoon that depicts the cajones of the United States firmly in the hands of China.

The chances are pretty good that the Democrats will still lose some seats in November – that’s the usual pattern. But if they had not managed to pass the bill, they could have lost big time. Now, maybe just the usual.

It would be nice if some moderate Republicans could get elected. Are there any left?

This wasn’t so much Obama’s “Waterloo” as it was the GOP’s “Moscow.” Rest assured, however, that they’ll be back. Just in time for their own “Waterloo,” and maybe their eventual “Elba.”

Just like Obama’s first year it will take some awhile before they see what a disaster this is. Worst economic mess we’ve ever been in and like good Democrats they vote for the biggest entitlement program ever. Next is the big mess called “Cap and Trade”, let’s destroy some more jobs and spend more money to fight a non-existent problem.

@ Lonecat - yeah, I’m pretty sure the Dems won’t do very well in November. They haven’t done much to win new votes (not like they could get the GOP ones) and have pissed much of their own electorate. Oh, and they will be blamed for the poor economy - they have been in power, after all.

Strayski - dude, Obama’s first year or two have nothing on Reagan’s. Do I need to remind you what happened there and how it turned out?

^^^ I hope and expect that the economy will continue to improve, so maybe that won’t be such a negative for the Democrats.

If the Dems act like Dems they will do well. If not they will lose. Those morons who lost those races pretended to be “Conservative Democratics”. No progressive is gonna vote for someone like that. We’ll see what platforms they all run on come November.
