You two are actually friends, you know... I mean, you don't believe it, or feel it, or act like it... You know what? You're brothers. That's better than being... Just friends.
Here the parent is obviously in denial of the fact that a disagreement occurred between the two siblings; she was actually talking to herself instead of counting to 10.
Blood is thicker than water. You know what that means? It means cleaning your house after a family battle is gonna take more than water, that’s what THAT means.
When you have more than two, they gang up on each other. I have 5 children at home and if 1 is upset with another one, someone else usually chimes in. It’s almost always against the youngest or the middle child.
I was lucky in some ways. Youngest of 3 by margins of 9 and 13 years. So there wasn’t much in the way of physical rivalry between us, plus the eldest was a girl so she was just in a totally different place than I was. My brother and I have always been close, maybe because I thought he was the coolest thing ever when I was little.
My brother and I argued and silly kid stuff, but, like a lot of people I know, my brother is sort of my hero. He’s done a lot wit h his life that I’d like to have done with mine. Hopefully, there’s some corner of his mind where he thinks, “My brother’s a cartoonist. That’s pretty good.”
@Greg CravensJust to tease you he was probably thinking ‘My brother a cartoonist? Is he any good? Is he using his real name? I will never show my face again.’

Ah Yes, family must obey the rules of engagement. Friends – not so much.

My 2 sons fought almost constantly anywhere anyplace. Sad that they never made up even now as adults.

I may have argued with my older siblings but it never came to blows; I just ignored them and never stopped.

Love the drawings of Eddie in the first two panels. When you’re the little guy, all’s fair.

My sister and I use to fight all the time when we were younger! Get along great now that we don’t live under the same roof!

It’s amazing that fratricide isn’t more common. A friend of mine used to get black eyes and big cuts on this face from fights with his brother.
