The real problem may be that Americans are hooked on “spectator sports”, like football, baseball, cycling, wrestling, miixed martial arts, and war. We “tsk tsk” bad behavior, or abuse of those same actual participants, yet keep demanding they continue to “entertain” us, while we ignore the costs.
