Cartoonist flashback: January 20, 2009.
Man: How will you make fun of Obama, He's too smart and clued in and dynamic to do anything worthy of ridicule. And handsome and
The health care thing is no great thing - necessary but far less than what this country needs. Obama is OK, certainly better than the alternative, but he has only ever been centrist and moderate. For thos claiming he’s a socialist, I bet if you put him on a scale running from the far right to the far left, he’d be dead center.
And progressive and transparent and against FISA expansion and for civil liberties and wants to close GITMO and is against bail-outs and wants the public option and would never stoop to propaganda and … wait, what?
I agree with you that Washington is too enmeshed with special interest groups, corruption, etc., and that progress comes along slowly, but rampant cynicism will take us nowhere either.

Rall won’t be happy until we elect Noam Chomsky president.

“and for civil liberties”
Ya even I don’t believe that. He’s back-pedaled so much on civil liberties. But some of us knew it wouldn’t happen. We just prefer him to Bible Spice.iamthelorax about 14 years ago
