The barriers at “the peoples’ house” are intentionally kept relatively inconspicuous, as a mental vision that the nation IS secure, and does not require a massive fortress for their house. The did see the guy, and determined it was NOT necessary to kill him, and moderated their response, as the Secret Service and U.S. Park Police are trained to do.
Now, if America just deported all the nuts out there, it would be much more massive an action than deporting all the illegal aliens the right worries about.
Had the whacko hurt someone, then the outrage would be justified. As I commented earlier, the guy was probably unemployed and homeless. Jumping that fence insured his future residency, healthcare, etc for many years.(snark)
