Donald Sterling would be high on my list, except for the fact that he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and has been legally declared “mentally unfit.” Candidates for the Sports Jerk of the Year Award should be theoretically capable of not being a jerk, and people suffering with dementia cannot satisfy this requirement, due to their having said dementia.
Think Suarez may be crazy, which would disqualify him. I guess Michael Phelps is retired, so he is not qualified. With instant replay, all of the baseball managers have lost the need to be jerks. Going to be tough to field a competition. May have to let the domestic violence count as “jerkism.”
Well in the past jerk has excluded anything illegal, or at least punshed as illegal because we all know the richer and more famous you are the more the laws change.

So the NFL is out. I assume so is FIFA since we can’t nominate a board or committee. But how to choose among those that are still available?
