    And this time they’ll get screwed by using a currency that is controlled by a country to the south. And a country to the south that will become more conservative because of Scotland’s exit, which greatly increases the risk of “voodoo” economic chaos. It doesn’t look like a good plan to me.

    Either way, the Scots get more say in their futures. To ensure a “No” in the referendum for independence, the British government have “Devo-Max”: Maximum devolution of powers without independence i.e broader autonomy which means Holyrood will wield power over most reserved matters, except defence and foreign affairs.Then the Welsh will want the same and the English, too. Oh yeah, the Northern Irish as well.

    Scotland the brave, if they try to pull it off on their own, the oil ain’t going to last that long.

    How does that draw and quarter compare to a “barbaric” act by terrorists?

    Northern Ireland is primarily Protestant, while Ireland is Catholic. I don’t think all that many citizens of Northern Ireland want to be rejoined. At least not unless they get guarantees of religious freedom.
