I believe McManx had been around for a while, maybe as a enemy to Bucky?I can’t really remember, but is the M&M&M a reference to the rapper Eminem, who tried to submit his rapper name as M&M, but couldn’t because the Mars candy brand wouldn’t let him? Maybe Darby’s a Eminem fan. Also, if Mac was a enemy to Bucky in earlier strips, maybe he’s hiding out here, because just like with the ferret-hating, Bucky’s enemies are HARD enemies. So maybe that’s why Mac has a different last name than Bucky. But, then again, last names change through one generation. It’s likely that either McTabby was his mom or dad’s last name and that went into McManx through a brother and the other was a Katt, likely the dad. And the B. Katt sending is even more mysterious, maybe Mac isn’t Bucky’s uncle at all? That would make my “enemy” theory true, and B. Katt is maybe his uncle, maybe there’s an unseen Bob Katt that got thrown away and made a faint appearance.

If Bucky’s mother and Mac have the same grandparents, that makes them first cousins, which makes Bucky and Mac first cousins once removed.
