The answer is simple, it’s 42. The question, however, is a bit tricker.

Life has no meaning. Its purpose is its perpetuation. Feel free to reproduce or not. But do understand most other life does not care about you or your offspring.

To survive, grow, and reproduce before dying. The rest is gravy, so grab your biscuits and mashed potatoes and enjoy the time you have here. Don’t forget your towel. : )

Wally probably is not allowed to play his trombone at home, so this is heaven for him: A boat, a lake, and a trombone is a getaway for him even if his son and his nieces are drifting along too.

I just love Wally. He’s my favorite character! Also to bhoidas you can stop your religious preaching. One or two sentences is fine, but ten paragraphs?? To Alan Watkins, I agree, life just is. It’s going to work everyday, taking care of family and pets, and paying the bills. Later it’s taking it easy filled with hobbies you didn’t otherwise have time for.

When my grandson was around seven, we were at a Harvestfest celebration in Glenbeulah, WI, sitting under a tent and listening to a little oom-pah group playing while we ate ice cream. My grandson was sitting in front of me. Suddenly he yelled out, “Why doesn’t anybody in the whole universe know the meaning of life?!”

Maybe it has something to do with brass instruments.

The existentialist answer is that everyone gets to define the meaning of their own lives by the way they live them. In short, life is what you make of it.
