^Hiram, exactly what I’ve been noting, and remembering speaking out that we couldn’t know which “rebels” to back, but the right wanted them armed, and NOW by golly! Now that ISIS/IS, one of their proposed recipients has gone sour, it’s Obama’s fault that we didn’t fund Assad? Or do we still hate him? Or do we bomb Delhi for sending an American some bad curry??
Ah yes, our Muslim, Kenyan, Commie failed because he didn’t destroy Assad AND all the Rebels, and send Condoleezza Rice in to run another colony.
ISIS is what you sometimes get when you don’t give support to moderate elements in a mideast rebellion, allowing the better-funded extremist groups to take over instead. ISIS wasn’t what we started with when President Obama refused to give support to rebel groups and did nothing as they were gassed, but it certainly is what we have now.
Limbaugh was on a toot a little bit ago on how “accidentally brilliant” Obama was in not supporting the Rebels (like ISIS) against Assad, which, back then, he was among the righties calling for arming them!! Like right-wing politicians, he seems to forget his programs are on tape, and HE puts ’em there!
It’s hard to keep up with “the right” anymore as their positions are spinning like tops.
Remember when McCain went over to identify the “moderate” rebels, and had his picture taken with them? Then reporters were able to identify the Islamic radicals in the crowd around him? I think conservatives have a lot of over-confidence in their mystical ability to look into people’s eyes and read their souls. And Cubefarmer is even more delusional than most of the loony birds.
“Minor problem, there ARE NO MODERATE ELEMENTS WILLING TO FIGHT.”-That wasn’t the opinion of President Obama at least as recently as this year:-http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/26/politics/syria-us-opposition-funding/index.html-Of course, by the time that he had gotten around to asking to fund moderate elements they had diminished to a small part of the Syrian rebellion:-http://www.npr.org/2014/07/29/336228189/u-s-aid-to-rebels-in-syria-too-little-too-late-Now, as you say, ISIS is killing moderates wherever they control the ground. Great job, President Obama.
