I just had a vision of the clock breaking down, losing it’s hour digit. Thus leaving Dr. Frankenstein with a hourly display of a single digit salute.
Since there’s no way to keep the flesh from rotting off the severed fingers, that clock will work the fingers down to the bone!
His alarm clock was a real monster. it kept waking him up at 5 minutes before 1 no matter what time he ste it to.
