So a new washer is unnecessary?

Not to mention being a fire hazard…

Well, at least the dryer didn’t make one sock go missing. They now know where every sock is.

Who washes all they’re socks in one load anyway?

Not entirely clear – Did all the lint from socks get on that sheet/blanket?Or is that supposed to represent dryer lint (which is always normally compressed into the shape of the filter)?Either way, the joke does not make sense to me.

And I no longer use my dryer. I keep it for guests and emergencies and have not used in years.

Why does that woman remind me of a red shirt extra in a Star Trek episode (and we all know what happens to them)?

It is a bit confusing, but if I’m reading it right, the dryer turned the entire load of socks into that big sheet of lint.

dukedoug alluded to it: I think she means the dryer felted an entire load of socks together. Or maybe that the socks were entirely reduced to lint like FinnyGirl says.

Clothing will eventually be reduced to threadbare skeletons with repeated washings. All that substance disappears as lint… I know, because I need to wash my father’s flannel pajamas frequently and they become very thin and light.
