Sophie’s an adopted daughter, so Doug’s family counts.

At least Sophie’s not bugging Doug on the way back home.

    rdh288, I agree, it’s Sophie’s family, too!

Yes Cleo…………..Priceless to say the least!

I can’t add anymore to this one.

Joe, Comics characters can go two ways, they can grow up and get old or stay forever young and ideally “cute”. It’s a problem, which would you prefer? And please allow for a few slip ups now and then.

It’s only been a day, and I already miss the cat.

Doug being adopted seems an awfully complex plot devise for such a simple and straightforward strip. It is much more likely that the creator of the comic did a “kid trick” to make Doug the age he is… and will be for the duration of the strip.

I also think that if Doug had been adopted, it would say so somewhere.

it’s really cute to see Sophie on Doug’s lap with Doug’s hand on her head. love the relationships between boy and his dog (just like Red and Rover!)
