I’ve always wondered that same thing. “Freestyle” means whatever the hell you wanna do.

I float 2 feet under water. Not helpful for swimming. I did get a medal for school’s fastest sinker, though.

It’s called crawl for a reason.

Crawl is fastest for most swimmers. It is the most efficient way for a human to move through the water when performed correctly.

Is this strip coming back???

And the point…? ‘Freestyle’ references the fastest stroke which is the crawl. But feel free to do breastroke since you can….
