My local library, and many of the other libraries in the area for that matter, aren’t like that at all, and in fact are exactly like the sort of library Berle’s thinking of.
Don’t hire him, though. He’ll probably just duck off into some corner of the library to nap (I’d say “to go read” but that’s not really in Berle’s character).
I worked in libraries for many years and love them. There’s a certain type of craziness that only seems to happen in libraries, and I think I miss that the most.
