Wouldn’t “smellavision” be better on a cooking show?

If they can get the technology so 3-D TV (or movies) DON’T require glasses, that might be interesting. Comparing the introduction of 3-D in movies or television to the introduction of color and/or sound is a false comparison, because neither of those required additional paraphernalia. It’s not that the glasses give me a headache (some people do experience those from 3-D movies, but they’re working on that); I just don’t like wearing them over my prescription lenses.

And of course I sympathize with mightaswellbe’s concerns.

3-D TV without glasses is here. It’s just not commercially available yet. It’s called autostereoscopy.

I was at Harrods in London this past summer and they had such a TV on display that is manufactured by LG.

Shouldn’t that video have been billed “The Juddds”?

Mightaswellbe, I can’t see 3D either. I don’t have binocular vision. I’m farsighted with a high + astigmatism, and a different prescription for each eye. People don’t believe me when I tell them I can’t see it. They just say “No look, there it is.”, as if that’s going to make me see it.

    High Def is nice though.
