I remember the 60’s; it was a time of confusion because when ever I asked my parents they would tell me ‘Never mind’ or ‘You don’t need to know that.’ Just what kind of power does a flower have anyway?

Zyreenesque: I was too! I was in my 30s, trying to feed my family while blacklisted for working for civil rights. In the 70s, I was in Canada with a Five A draft card in my pocket (in case of invasion of the 50 states, they might consider drafting me) but at least fed my family. Thanks, Canada..shamino: Officers above captain were career, cannon fodder were conscripts (with the occasional exception, of course, on both sides).

Were Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey around in the 60s? I thought they were 70s cats.

They were around, but they hit the music scene in the 70’s…

Joined the Air Force in ’64, to avoid the draft. 4 years was enough. Drove a cab for a year, during the riots.

graduated high school in 67, signed up for the Air Force too. Learned to be an air traffic controller. Volunteered for Nam and experienced quite a time in my life! Not the career choice for me tho.

Glenn Frey—very cool. The Eagles are my all-time favorite band.
