Holy cats! When my beloved 13 year old cat, who was declawed mostly because I didn’t know any better, died a couple of years ago, I adopted a youngish cat at the shelter. This new cat loves to use me for a scratching post and the furniture, as well. Good thing I like her. But I definitely sympathize with that guy!

Can totally relate to this! Luckily the scar on my face is slightly fading from my kitten. almost got my eyeball, too.

First, some cats ignore catnip. (All three of mine are indifferent as far as I can tell.)Second, good luck getting a cat to do what you want it to do.

Huh. Our cats thought that our furniture, and random pieces of cardboard, were better than humans to use as scratching posts.
