Children can get away with a lot more. When the frontal lobe shrinks it isn’t your intelligence that is affected, it is the ability to keep from saying things that just pop into your mind. That ability goes away.
Growing up, if sliding around in one’s socks was good enough for Tom Cruise, it was good enough for me. I’ve probably done all of those things growing up, still do one or two. (Good thing I wear long sleeve shirts)
