Sorry, but when it comes to radicals, Hamas, Likud, and AIPAC are all rowing the same boat. The real problem is that real people pay the price, just as when we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, overreaction on our part, to put it extremely mildly, and well, wrongly.
Hamas is hiding weapons in schools, mosques, houses. Israel notifies them WAY ahead of time when they’re going to do something. Then when there’s civilian deaths people beat up on ISRAEL???People amaze me…
When Serbia attacked Kosovo, we, with NATO support, blew them out of the water, for doing exactly what Israel has been doing to Gaza (actually worse with the blockades), for years!
BTW: confusing the disagreements with the government of Israel, as “anti-Semitism” (Arab or Jew), or anti- Jewish, is the grossest of errors. NOT defending EITHER “political faction” is just intelligent assessment of history, and facts.
Defending overwhelmingly dominant military force, by a domineering and brutal “faction”, is not “humanitarian”, no matter how many lies that faction presents, whether it’s Russia, Israel, Hamas, Ukraine, dissidents (pick any country you car to here), the U.S. (WMDs), or even paramilitary religions (Inquisition).
I don’t usually duplicate posts on different toons, but:
Good summary in WoPo today showing photos of the destruction in Gaza. An interesting table shows number TARGETS HIT by Israel, and number of ROCKETS FIRED by Hamas. But there IS a HUGE difference between sophisticated weapons that hit their “target” (like houses, schools(btw, the only UN schools with Hamas weapons in them were UNOCCUPIED at time) and hospitals), versus primitive unguided rockets that hit basically nothing but open fields.
Yes, the Hamas position is a little insane, exactly like faced the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto under German occupancy. But we aren’t allowed to make historical comparisons that indicate the state of Israel (NOT all Jews) is just as guilty of illegal and despicable acts.
And to the “religious” conversation, Jews, Christians, AND Muslims, all insist they’re the only “chosen by God”, to end up ruling the world and surviving the final “holocaust”.
HIstory has proven the book of myths is the basis for most of the insanity, and inhumanity between “tribes”.
^I HAVE been mortared, rocketed, and shot at, and I was on the side with “military superiority”, on the ground, and from the air and sea. THAT is why I have severe problems with the inhuman brutality of the STATE OF ISRAEL, not “Jews”.
Hamas leadership IS crazy, in large part because since the times of Joshua, the crazies who came out of Egypt, and determined to conquer whoever stood in their way, ARE the ones who “started it”, centuries ago. Again I state, that Abraham should have either 1. Supported BOTH of his sons, or 2. Killed them both. It predates the “religious element” and goes directly to the TRIBAL element, and that is what modern folks defending a “religious” perspective, need to eliminate totally from their thinking, and go back to the beginning. “That book” has been used for more aggression and hatred than any other in the history of Man, and that includes the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the rationale of a Roman Catholic named Adolph. “Gott Mit Uns” HAS been the number one destructive force in history. (Because MEN, and only a few women, have used it as an excuse.)
