The interesting thing is, the reason it is so difficult to get the proper chemicals is that the anti-capital-punishment bunch has put so much pressure on the makers. THEY are the cause of what they are complaining about.
“I will not hold for the penalty of death until you can show me that man is incapable of error.” Thomas Jefferson.Four things are required for tyranny, lacking all four, there is a chance of freedom, but with all four, hope can only come from outside.Censorship: We have that now, not directly from government, but indirectly by corporate sponsors who also own the government.Conscription: Its on the law books, but not enforced as long as massive unemployment forces the poor to “volunteer”.Capital Punishment: If life is not an unalienable right, liberty can’t be either.Prejudice: Not quite the Nazi concept of an artificially designated “Üntermenchen”, but close, with a diffused grab-bag of Muslims, Hispanics, blacks, gays, poor, political parties not Republicrat, peacemakers, etc.CCCP, switch to the Cyrilic alphabet and you will get one of the more successful manifestations of this philosophy..“Those who refuse to study history will be compelled to relive it.” paraphrased from George Santyana.I find the blood-lust of the previous posts disgusting and unworthy of a civilized culture.
Brought to you by the European Union’s restriction on the export of reliable drugs for lethal injection. How many more murderers will benefit from the EU’s “mercy” before a better alternative means of execution is developed?
Jefferson had it right on the death penalty, but it was accepted around the world in his time. (even for petty crimes in many places, as today)
IF however, we are to have the death penalty, go back to hanging or firing squad as the only approved methods, as either of those is in actuality, more “humane” than lethal injection, gas chamber (cyanide OR nitrogen overdose), or most especially, electrocution (by far the most brutal).
Yes, because we don’t want to make absolutely sure that the people we put to death are actually guilty. I say we let the police just shoot the suspects they “know” did it.

Equine veterinarians put a horse down quickly and painlessly. Maybe they should do the job on criminals.

I’m for “Old Sparky” as long as they play "You Light up My Life " in the background.

Perhaps some crime scene photos of the victim(s) plastered on the wall might lessen the moral outrage.
