The Aztecs were encouraged to stretch their children to help them grow! Fish fell from the sky over Chilaw, Sri Lanka, during a storm in May 2014. The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci was so faded after 150 years that a doorway was knocked through the Milan monastery wall on which it was painted, and can still be seen today.

Very confusing. Is it the doorway or the painting or both?

Well, I’m sure Aztec parents did their best to stretch their offspring.

How did anyone see the painting before the door was made?If the door provided more sunlight, then the painting wouldfade even faster! Can anyone provide more information??

What does a faded painting have to do with a hole in the wall???

According to Wiki: the painting had faded so badly, that they made a doorway through the wall, probably not realizing the significance of the painting. Later, the doorway was blocked up and painted over, but it (the doorway) can still be seen.

Glad I’m not the only one who was confused. I thought it was my head cold.

I’ve seen the top of the door before, and never realized it was the top of a door. I’m not sure I gave it any thought at all, before today.

What kind of storm over Sri Lanka, a cyclone? I wonder if the fish were caught already, and a cyclone picked them up, dropping them over the small island.
