Cleveland is the city I cite when I snarl at locals — I live in Massachusetts, see — who complain about how the Boston teams are doing any given year.

Listening to Bostonians whine about their teams is akin to listening to millionaires whining about how poor they are. At least they stopped whining about The Curse.

You want lousy, live in Chicago & be a Cubs fan!The only thing they win is the most beer sold per person at the ballpark.Plus the most drunk fans using everyone’s front yards as their toilet.

I was gonna complain about the New Orleans Saints of the 60s and 70s, but after reading these comments, I feel much better.

Boston fans who continue to whine about their teams are basically NY fans in mufti. I’m a Boston fan and I’m grateful for all the recent success, after the long waits for each of the teams. As long as the NY teams continue to plod along I’m good.

By the way, this comic perfectly captures exactly how Cleveland fans feel right now. Tremendously excited but also knowing that somehow, it’s all going to get snatched away again somehow.

Oh, and flippant? Long waits? Maybe by specific team, but the 90’s is the only decade out of the last 5 when Boston hasn’t had multiple championships across the three major sports.

The spirit’s position on the park bench had me first thinking he was a form of Forrest Gump (the box of chocolates analogy seems to fit here). Like it how, when returning to the Daily Show in mid-July after a break, Jon Stewart was declared the world was so “f’ed up” that Cleveland and Germany were the happiest places on Earth at the time.

Green Bay Packers fan since 1964 when I was 14 and my father took me to a game. I well remember when the Pack beat the Cowboys in 67, it was the coldest I have ever been(except for the 70 Days I was TDY in Nome AK in Jan, just 27 days after returning from Vietnam. I really thought I was going to freeze-living in tents did not help)

Mr. Hinds, in regarding to Friday’s strip (Aug 22), glad you like the idea. Maybe more so given what the Urban Dictionary says about Vorts (or maybe you knew already?) http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=VORT

I think I get it now. Boston fans diss my team and all other teams because they are unhappy with their own sports teams. Who knew they were so insecure.
