Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for August 14, 2014
Transcript:
You know, Amigo, this isn't the first time I've worn a pirate costume! Oh, yeah? I was a pirate for Halloween one year, and my outfit put all the other pirates to shame! Even the big kids! Chuckle! How well I remember going from door to door, hoping to fill my "Star Wars" pillow case with candy! How old were you? Late twenties. Ah, youth!

I can see that School Picture Guy is more like Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons: both adults, have lousy jobs, still live in their parents house, Star Wars fans and all that kind of stuff…

It’s hoped that he didn’t drop by the Wright doorstep on that fabled evening: soy nuts!! egg salad kabobs!! rice cakes!! candy corn (made with real corn ’o the can!!)!! trail mix!! Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnd (drum roll please!!) the homemade “crispy treats” that still defy a working definition!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!!, indeed!!
