The next step is your state’s public utilities commission. Then the phone company will care—a great deal, in fact.

Must be Wells Fargo. Used to charge a late fee if the payment was not at least two weeks early. Did this to me with two loans. I did not stay with them long.

This reminds me of my former bank. I deposited my paycheck on a Monday at the downtown branch near where I worked. On Thursday I wrote a check at Woolworth (yes it was that long ago, but I’m still peeved). The Woolworth was in the mall and did their banking at the mall branch of my bank. So of course the check bounced and I got a hefty fee from the bank. I’m sorry, according to the bank, the check didn’t “bounce,” they “paid it through” and charged me a higher fee than Woolworth would have for a “returned check.” The bank manager said it could take at least a week for a check deposited downtown to be credited to my account and that I “should always make sure there were funds to cover any check written.” I was not very nice when I threw my checkbook on the bank manager’s desk and told him I didn’t need a bank that couldn’t move money less than 4 miles in 4 days. Thank the Maker for credit unions.
