I’ve had credit cards for over a decade, and I’ve never paid any fees. I also very rarely carry a balance, so I’ve paid very little in interest. I have, however, received thousands of dollars worth of stuff in “rewards” and have a very high credit score. There is nothing wrong with credit cards if you use them correctly. Just because you have a ten thousand dollar limit, it doesn’t mean you spend ten thousand dollars.

Easy solution, no credit cards. If we don’t have the money for it, we don’t buy it. Period! Learned the hard way, but a lesson well learned.
