I had the hardest time drawing this one. First I had a version with Thanksgiving colors – oranges, browns. But then it didn’t create enough of a contrast with the Christmas colors in the last panel. I’m looking at my hard drive now, and I have, like, 10 versions of this strip. It was a headache!! lol, but hopefully people will get it.
Really wonderful, Carla. Had you not commented, I would have assumed you went with B&W purposely to mimic the beginning of The Wizard of Oz. A double homage…

I think this is great. It works MUCH better this way than if the beginning had been in color, even drab colors.
