    The pioneers died of diseases that we don’t see much in this country anymore like cholera, dysentery, tuberculosis, and bad water.

    Remember the Roman Empire. It fell, and it can and probably will happen again to the “richest country in the world.” Too bad it’s only the top 1% that have all the money. Lot of good it will do them when it becomes worthless.

    Oh my, it’s so strange looking back on this strip. Henry and I wrote it about 10 years ago when we were insurance-less ourselves. It was a very stressful time, and we were making all the desperate attempts Claire did like buy lots of fruits and vegetables to avoid getting sick. We now live in Ontario in Canada, where we get insurance automatically! It’s not a perfect system, but overall it works and runs really well, and the quality is very good (at least in our experience).
