I am feeling pretty sad. I had to put Penny to sleep this morning. We had two plus good years with her, but I would have loved her to be healthy for more.
@DryThanks for the hugs. I am feeling pretty lonely with LilG at work and my pal no longer at my side. The decision was difficult because she was still mentally fit and not physically old either. About two months ago when she was getting groomed and they found a small watery bump on her left hind foot. Over that short time it had grown to a vu,p the size of my fist. She did pretty well adapting to the added weight on her foot when walking. Last night I got up at 3:30AM. I took her outside and she was no longer walking on that foot. This morning she was licking it constantly. It had grown so tight that her skin had burst. I decided to take her in before she began to suffer, as that would have happened very soon. It is called a Mast tumor and is very aggressive. It would have continued to rip the skin. She took one last treat from me when I put her in the car. Dang!

BUT REMEMBER THIS, THIS MOST OF ALL, YOU GAVE HER A GOOD, GOOD, GOOD LIFE OF LOVE, FREINDSHIP, TREATING HER RIGHT! HAD SHE ENDED UP IN A SHELTER, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN YOUR LOVE OR THE EXTRA YEARS OF CARING AND LOVING!
I am so sorry to hear this CLEO. A tough decision to make, but you did right by Penny. She had two plus wonderful years with you, full of love and companionship.Lots of hugs and love going your way.(((((((((((CLEO)))))))))))
