My parents required hearing the water turn off while soaping up. I still do that, even in the gym’s communal showers. Some people think it’s weird.

We had three teen-aged girls. We used to turn off the water at the pump. Didn’t take long.

Turning on the dishwasher works, too….takes all the hot water!

she’s complaining about 10 minutes? I stay in the shower until there’s no hot water left… usually 40 minutes or so.

nice to see the idea of saving, but things like ‘counting squares’ (from yesterday) are impractical and ridiculous

It has more to do with the hot water being diverted to the dishwasher, and all of a sudden, the shower-taker is taking a cold shower.

My dishwasher comes with the regular long cycle and a really short cycle. Since the temp is the same, it cleans just as well – I use the short cycle. .showers and baths are another story. Betty should be pleased her boy is wanting have showers. Save money not by shortening the shower time, but by lowering the temp on the hot water tank. .
