the Rip Van Winkle is the ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA, the original monopoly of TV ABC, CBS, and NBC and the ultra liberal print media of the NYTimes, Washington Post, et al.-They deny factual and real scandals, but if a Republican is elected president in 2016, they will waken from this long sleep to make up their anti-GOP “reporting”….which is not the quality objective true reporting the schools should be teaching.- Fox News, the New Reporting “outsider”, reports the old-fashioned way, with documentation. Rumor is labeled “rumor”. Opinion is labeled “opinion”…..Facts usually come with named sources….GAO reports, etc.
I am sure all of my fellow commentators have read over the past, say, twenty years about newspapers, radio stations and other news outlet media being purchased by some conglomerate. These conglomerates, bigger corporations are owned by VERY wealthy families, who will certainly send word down the line that investigative reporting against any of their interests is VERBOTEN! Any editor who does not toe the line will be replaced.
These families saw what the press accomplished in the early-mid 1970’s, and they will not allow that to happen again!
Grenada, Iran/Contra, Noriega and the REAL story behind our invasion of Panama- and after-effects, no WMDs, no Afghans or Iraqis involved with 9/11, yep, ol’ Rip has been asleep under that tree during most all REAL scandals, but give him a blue dress, and he’ll spend years on it. Rip definitely tears up all GOP scandals, if they can’t be covered up, because the owners of the “media” all segments, ARE conservative interests, even if portions of their affiliates do produce a minor degree of balance.
