Yes, I, along with Jen Sorensen, am tired of those who take a spate of cold temperatures as “proof” against “global warming”. Climate change has been proved. Now, we must change our ways.

Most of the denying comments I have read are from people who don’t understand what global warming means. The rest of them deny it because it would cost them money if we were to do something about global warming. Unfortunately, I think both types of deniers will read this strip as vindication for their erroneous view.

Proven?? By what?? Models based on altered data (and the original data conviently destroyed), reports based on magazine articles or a campaign to silence any opposing views. Bad science doesn’t prove anything, except the P. T. Barnum was right.

Sorensen is an ignorant fool who needs to learn the difference between “weather” and “climate”. Off my GoComics feed!

The latest scam is to say that warming is climate but cooling is just weather. Well, folks, enough weather IS climate.

Most important, the satellite data shows no warming for about the last 10 years. And the solar astrophysicists are predicting cooling based on the near-record absence of sunspots. Eventually even the denier-deniers will have to recognize the facts. But then they’ll have to find another ploy to justify their dreamed-of takeover of all industry. From Reds to Greens to what next?

(BTW, here in the Philly area we just had our second worst snowstorm in history, and more is on the way tonight.)

(BTW2: Am I the only person to realize Sorensen is trying to be ironic?)

tbetz: Read the comic more closely. As pschearer notes, it’s intended to be ironic.

    Climate is what we expect.

    Weather is what we get.

Unusual and severe weather is exactly what climate change is about, winter gets more wintery, summer more summery. The trend though is toward hotter and dryer. The real crisis is that with the snowfall in the east, where will the west get water this summer?

People who don’t get the irony in this comic should not be allowed to read comics anymore. ;-)
