I read somewhere that the entemolgy of the word “butterfly” was that it was a bastardization of “flutter-by”. I can’t remember where I read it, but I think it was on doctionary.com
I think “Flutterby” is a nice, descriptive name for beautiful critters. But, changing the name in all the books and E-documents would be a bit much. :-)

Actually,it’s a flip-flop of “butterfly”. It was used in a children’s poem,the name of which escapes me.
