What’s the reason for the malicious jab at preachers? I’ve met a lot of preachers, and am hard pressed to think of any I could legitimately describe as “robotic.” I feel sorry for anyone whose experience of preachers is so limited. If that’s all you know, find a different church!
We have a young pastor who is most not a robotic and likes the congregation to be involved nor is he like late Oral Roberts. He bases his sermon entirely on the word of the Bible.
Doc - I personally am most concerned about people who hear God. When talking with people who consider themselves non-Christians, I seem to have all the “faith healers”, “word of faith” and other emotionally distorted theological folks as seen on TBN thrown out as examples. Quite frankly, they are closer to cults than Christianity. The sad thing is people give money to these charlatans. Benny Hinn is among the worst with his idiotic claim of Adam being a superman and flying through space. My suggestion would be to not wait for God to speak, but just read a section of the Bible - try 1 John - a nice short 5 chapter book about fellowship with God.
And Joe, Christ did not talk about bestiality or pedophilia either, but all sexual sins fall under adultery (one partner married) or fornication (neither partner married) Including multiple partners of any sort. So quit trying to justify yourself to others.
